This Month's Web Tip - Did You Forget Something?
Do you forget about your website when creating your advertising? If you're not including your website's url, you're missing a great opportunity.
Most advertising is short and to the point; designed to pique interest and get your name known. Ideally, it will bring customers to contact you directly, but often there’s not enough information to convince. Your website is ideally suited to fill that gap between interest and being ready to contact you.
Including your URL in your advertising seems like a no-brainer yet all too often, advertisers don’t bother. "People can call or come in," they say. But more and more, people are doing their preliminary shopping on the internet. If someone does a search for your product or service instead of your business name, they can easily end up at a competitor’s site.
The solution is simple: Put your URL in your ad. Now you're giving people the information they need to choose you. Potential customers are much more likely to contact you if they know you can provide them with what they need.
Some hints:
- Include your url on all your business stationary (letterhead, envelopes, etc)
- Your url should be on all print advertising, fliers, postcards, ads etc
- Add your website to your business cards
- Don’t forget other advertising such as radio and television ads
- Finally, if you don’t have a website, GET ONE!
A website can provide in-depth information about your business 24 hours a day 7 days a week. By tying in your website to your other advertising, you can stretch your advertising dollar and bring in customers who are ready to purchase your product or service.
Remember, on the web, your web site is you
